With video there is numerous ways to get the attention of your potential customer base, but for many of you out there that have used video before, but felt like the content you were putting out wasn't getting the engagement you wanted or wasn't reaching your targeted market, using video marketing can seem daunting. Or maybe your company or business is new to video and doesn't have an idea where to start. Which is where this guide for video content ideas will come in handy. This isn't an exhaustive list, but can be a stepping stone to help you find your way with reaching the right people.

Video Testimonials

one of the most utilized video content ideas in 2019 by 86% of marketing professionals according to Wyzowl is video Testimonials (Wyzowl,2019). In addition to the that, Wyzowl also discovered that 77% of consumers who have watched a brands testimonial video has helped to to make a purchasing decision on that good or service( Source: https://www.wyzowl.com/testimonials-statistics/). A lot of companies Luminance has worked with have used video testimonials, and for a good reason. Video testimonials allow for potential customers or clients to learn from a current client or customer how your business, product, or solution helped them solve a problem. Video testimonials can also be used to talk about a positive experience a customer had with your company, or how they enjoyed working with your team. Many consumers use video to help them make a buying decision, and when you get testimonials from past customers it helps build trust among those who have yet to buy your product or service, but are keenly interested.

Company Introduction Videos

Company introduction videos invite the customer to learn about who you are, what you do, and what your brand is all about. These videos range from about 1-minute to 5 minutes, depending on how in depth you wish to go with your company, it's mission statement, and how the company was started. It's best to keep your introduction video short (around 1 minute to two minutes is optimal) as to not bore or scare away the customer, however if your company introduction video happens to be a documentary, then it's best to place the video in a different section of your website and a shorter video introduction at the front of your website, or in the about section.

Product Demos

Product demos are a great way to introduce to your product and show how it works and can be incorporated into your potential customers life or business. Product demos aren't just another tool for you to educate the customer, but they also help generate trust. Over 52% of marketers say that video helps them build trust with potential customers (Source: https://biteable.com/blog/video-marketing-statistics/). To add to that statistic, 84% of people say that they’ve been convinced to buy a product or service by watching a brand’s video (Wyzowl, 2020). The advantages of product demos are numerous, so it only makes sense to shoot a product demo video.

Meet the Founders

Similar to the company introduction videos, meet the founder videos are another form of content for your business to consider. This allows customers to meet the person or persons who are responsible for the creation and operation of the company, along with discussing how the company came to be, what product or products the founder(s) love the most or find most useful if applicable, and what they have planned for the future of the company. Although this specific form of video isn't as effective compared to video testimonials or product demos, it still can be used as an way for customers to become a little more knowledgeable of the company and create trust between the business and the consumer.

Meet the Team

Meet the team videos are in everyway similar to meet the founders, and although simple, they are also a great way to put out more content for your business if you're looking for ideas for your social media accounts. How many of your employees you choose to interview depends on you, but if you employ over 10 people, interviewing them could be quite time consuming, so best plan of action would be to interview heads of departments, or reduce the length of the videos to about 30 seconds to a minute for each employee. This gives customers a chance to see who's working behind the scenes as well as increasing the amount of content for your brand.

Conclusion

The use of video marketing has exploded over the past few years, and as more and more companies invest in it to reach their targeted customer base and expand their brand, so too are consumers who are seeking easy, digestible, and informative content. Video marketing is a strong tool for your business to utilize and if you have an in-house team who just needs a few ideas for content, or are interested in using video but not sure where to start, then the ideas listed above are sure to help.
